Google has many hacks available - including being able to use google as a proxy to access sites

This works great, as most schools, work places etc. never block google accept for certain searches

How to:

All this does is shows the cache from that sites that runs through google - ads etc.

Tweaking Vista is necessary, but you've got to do it right. Doing it wrong is risky and wastes time. This list does not include foolish registry hacks, randomly messing around with Services, or other poorly conceived "tweaks." It only includes tweaks that actually give some benefit.

Each tweak on this list has a rationale attached. The tweaks assume you are starting with a vanilla Vista installation.

Apply SP1 - download and put it on, unless it is already. Rationale: improved performance, stability, security, and compatibility.

Turn on 16-bit color - Graphics cards and monitors have different standards for how many bits of colors translate to how many colors displayed. To optimize efficiency, match the number of colors displayed by your video card to the number of colors that your monitor can display.

A graphics adapter displaying 16 bits of color can display 65,536 colors at a time. A graphics adapter at 24 bits can display 16,777,216 colors. A graphics adapter at 32 bits can display the same 24 bits of color plus 8 alpha, transparent bits. Settings the graphics adapter at 24 bits or 32 bits has a performance cost for your entire computer over setting it at 16 bits. Thus, if you want to keep using 24 bits or 32 bits of color, make sure you have a good reason such as that your monitor can actually display 16,777,216 colors at once. In Control Panel (classic view) | Personalize | Display Settings | colors, you can see what your graphics adapter is set at and what your options are, and make changes.

To experiment, pull up a good photograph with lots of colors, taken at a high resolution. View the picture in 32-bit or 24-bit mode, then switch your graphics adapter to 16-bit mode and see if you notice a difference. If you have a normal LCD monitor, chances are that you won't see much of a difference.

If you have an LCD monitor, such as on a laptop or a desktop, your 6-bit monitor can probably only display 262,144 colors at a time, which is comparable to the 65,536 colors displayed by a graphics card set for 16-bit color. Using 24-bits of graphics card color to display on a standard 6-bit LCD monitor is quite wasteful of computing power and gives you little benefit. On the other hand, if you are using an HD television or a CRT (with a tube) as your monitor, that is an 8-bit color monitor which can display 16,777,216 or more colors at a time. With such a monitor, setting the graphics adapter to 24-bit or 32-bit mode actually gives you the lion's share of the benefit, making the performance cost worth it.

If you are willing to sacrifice the alpha mode and transparent effects and Flip 3D, but are not willing to significantly reduce the number of colors displayed on your normal LCD monitor, you can shift your graphics card from 32-bit to 16-bit. The result is a significant performance enhancement with a loss of alpha effects and a few colors that aren't making much of a difference anyway.

Rationale: shifting your graphics card to 16-bit color will noticeably boost performance. It will not significantly reduce the quality of your display, unless you have a CRT, an HD television, a very high end LCD monitor sold to graphics professionals, or other display with 8-bit color. It will also turn off the transparent effects of Aero and Flip 3D. Otherwise, shifting to 16-bit color results in a noticeable performance boost.

Remove visual effects - In Control Panel (classic view) | Performance Items | Adjust visual effects there is a range of effects that can be dropped if you have a poor graphics card, like most ones from Intel. In a pinch you can try "Adjust for best performance" which removes all the effects. The result is a very fast Vista system that looks more like Windows 2000 than the default Vista look. If you still need more performance, disable Aero. Rationale: increased performance in underpowered machines.

Readyboost - Set up ReadyBoost. Use the fastest flash memory available. Flash memory speed is measured differently for reading and writing; both are in megabytes per second. An excellent target would be 10 MB/s writing and 18 MB/s reading. Rationale: increased performance. Try to get at least 2 GB and preferably 4 GB or more of flash memory dedicated to Readyboost. Rationale: increased performance.

Enable write-caching and advanced performance - For systems with a backup power source (like laptops), enable write caching in Control Panel (classic view) | Device Manager | Policies. Rationale: increased performance.

Enable DEP - First, enable it in BIOS. Use SecurAble to make sure it is enabled. Then, in Control Panel (classic view) | System | Advanced System Settings | Advanced: Performance: Settings | Data Execution Prevention, turn DEP on for all programs. Rationale: increased security. Citation: Security Now podcast on DEP.

Disable Windows Media Player sharing - Go to WMP 11 | Library | Media Sharing and uncheck all/both options. Rationale: increased performance.

Increase WMP buffer - go to WMP 11 | press Alt once | Tools | Options | Performance | Network Buffering. Set to 60 seconds. Rationale: much greater chance for steady playback of streaming content.

Disable UPnP - Universal Plug n Play is being phased out. It should not be running. Go to Control Panel (classic view) | Administrative Tools | Services. Disable UPnP. If Internet Connection Sharing is not disabled yet, disable it as well, unless you are relying on this service, which you shouldn't be relying on. Rationale: increased performance, and possibly better security.

Download and install driver updates - from the manufacturer (like HP or Dell or whoever). Rationale: increased performance, reliability, and security.

Eliminate startup junk - stop everything from starting up automatically, unless it's necessary, using Autoruns. Rationale: increased performance.

Boost RAM to 2GB or 3GB - Less might not be enough. More is overkill as Vista 32-bit cannot make use of a full 4 GB as video memory must be mapped within the 4GB memory limit. If you need more than 2GB or 3GB of RAM, install Vista 64-bit. Make sure that the RAM you install is high in quality, such as that from American manufacturer Crucial Technologies, and is the maximum speed for the computer as listed in the manual. Rationale for boosting RAM: increased performance.

Upgrade to 64-bit Vista - Once you need more than 3GB of RAM, or you have multiple graphics cards, upgrading to Vista x64lets you get to all the RAM and devices you need. If you bought Vista in a Microsoft box, you can get a free x64 DVD from Microsoft. Rationale: increased performance and efficiency.

Increase hard drive space - Delete files, move files to other media, compress files, or upgrade to a bigger hard drive. More hard drive space translates into faster hard drive access. Rationale: increased performance.

Run vsp1cln.exe - After applying SP1, open a command prompt as administrator and run vsp1cln.exe. Rationale: deletes unnecessary files, freeing up hard drive space, improving performance.

Run as administrative user and leave UAC on - In Control Panel (classic view) | User Accounts, you can set your user security level to that of an administrative user. This configuration of running not as "Administrator" but as an administrative user coupled with leaving UAC on allows you to make administrative changes like installing a program by only clicking on a confirm button. No password-typing required. On the other hand, if you see a UAC prompt without knowing why, you can deny permission and investigate to see what's going on. Rationale: increased security and more control over your applications.

Have running only one security program of each type - Have only one firewall, one anti-virus, and one anti-malware program running in the background. If you have installed a third-party firewall, disable Windows Firewall. You should go to Control Panel (classic) | Administrative Tools | Services and make sure Windows Firewall is disabled. If you have a third-party anti-malware scanner installed, such as what might come with a security suite, go to the same place and make sure Windows Defender is disabled. Rationale: Two or more programs of the same type interfere with one another. Have only one to help optimize performance and stability.

Leave basic Vista features alone - SuperFetch and the page file are autoconfigured by Vista. The prefetch folder doesn't need "cleaning". Don't use memory optimization software not from Microsoft. Let Vista figure out the best settings. Rationale: security and performance.

Protecting yourself when downloading using µTorrent

If you've been using BitTorrent to download any of the more popular files, such as the latest episode of some major TV show, you may have found yourself receiving lots of "Wasted" data. This is data that has been discarded after being deemed corrupt or invalid by your BitTorrent client. Every so often, you will have received more wasted data than the size of the files you are downloading!

This is happening because Anti-P2P organizations are actively polluting P2P networks with fake peers, which send out fake or corrupt data in order to waste bandwidth and slow down file transfers. At its worst, when downloading major copyrighted torrents, as much as a fourth of the peers you are connected to can be attributed to various Anti-P2P agencies. There is also a much more serious side to this. Once you've established a connection to one of these fake "peers", your IP has been logged and will most likely be sent to the RIAA/MPAA!
But there is a way to fight back! If you are using the latest µTorrent (1.5), you can employ a little known feature called IP filtering. The author of µTorrent has gone out of his way to hide it, but it's there nonetheless.

But before we can activate this filter, we need to retrieve a list of currently known Anti-P2P organization IPs.
This is most easily done by downloading the latest blacklist from Bluetack (the same people who wrote SafePeer for the Azureus BT client) at http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/nipfilter.dat.gz This list is updated daily, and contains all known Anti-P2P organizations, trackers and peers, aswell as all known Goverment/Military IP addresses as collected by the Bluetack team. Once downloaded, extract and rename the file original filename "ipfilter.dat" to "ipfilter.dat" in preparation for the final step.

To make the list available to µTorrent, you need to place the renamed ipfilter.dat file in %AppData%\uTorrent. Go to Start -> Run and type %AppData%\uTorrent at the box. Click Ok button and a folder will appear.

After placing the ipfilter.dat in this folder, start µTorrent and go into preferences (Ctrl+P), then click on "Advanced". In the right hand pane, make sure that "ipfilter.enable" is set to true, and then close the dialog. That's it for the configuration.

You can verify that the list has been loaded by looking under the "Logging" tab of µTorrent, where you should see the line "Loaded ipfilter.dat (X entries)".

Congratulations! You are now protected against most of the garbage-distributing peers; and the likelyhood of the RIAA or MPAA knocking at your door has been substantially reduced! I'd go as far as to say that you shouldn't be using µTorrent at all without this feature turned on! And even if the law enforcement side of it doesn't bother you, you should still be interested in reducing the amount of garbage data that gets sent your way, which in turn leads to quicker downloads, and isn't that something everybody should strive for?

Note: It's advised that you update the list at least once a month, to keep you updated on the movement of the Anti-P2P organizations. One tool that will aid you getting these updates is the "Blocklist Manager" from the same people who made the list; go to http://www.bluetack.co.uk/ and download it. On a related note, this note from the µTorrent FAQ should come in handy: "To reload ipfilter.dat without restarting µTorrent, simply open the preferences (ctrl+p), and press enter to close it again.

Ever been on PC where Internet Explorer was blocked? One solution would be to use a portable version of Firefox on a USB drive, or you can access a hidden browser in Microsoft HTML Help program if removable media is not an option. This was tested on Windows XP SP2 with Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7.

Open calculator. You can do this quickly with Windows button+R on your keyboard, type calc in the run box, click OK.
In Microsoft Calculator go to Help -> Help Topics.

Now right click on the left hand side of the title bar and click on Jump To URL...

Type in the URL including the ‘

http://’

and off you go. Repeat to visit other sites.

Essentially this is Internet Explorer embedded inside of the HTML Help application. Adobe Flash isn’t working in my hidden browser, but a quick visit to Adobe took care of it.

Ever been to a site with Rapidshare links only to copy and paste and find out the links are no good? Here is a nice little script for GreaseMonkey (FireFox add on) that will save you alot of time. You will need FireFox web browser for this. The link for FireFox will be at the bottom of this post for those of you not using it already.

This is what the links would normally look like before...

Now with the script it will show you a nice little green checkmark if the link is good and also make it clickable even if it is inside of CODE tags.

Making Only Administrators UAC Free By Kanjjars

Vista incorporates a feature called the User Account Control (UAC) to help ensure that users don't accidentally make unwanted changes to their system by prompting them for admin authorization. UAC is also useful in stopping malware from grabbing admin privileges without the user knowing it. However, if you are an Administrator on the PC, the UAC can become quite annoying during initial set up and configuration of the system. You can disable the User Account Control for Administrators on the computer while keeping the UAC enabled for standard users by following these steps:

1. Press the WinKey+R to bring up the Run dialog box.

2. Input secpol.msc.

3. Click OK.

4. When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.

5. The Local Security Policy window will appear.

6. In the left pane, expand Local Policies.

7. Select Security Options.

8. In the right pane, scroll down to the bottom.

9. Double-click User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode.

10. Click the dropdown button and select Elevate without prompting.

11. Click OK.

12. Close the Local Security Policy window.

Guide to Fixing BSOD/STOP errors in Windows Vista

Background

This guide will show you how to use Free Windows Debugging tools to analyze the mini dumps which occur after a BSOD(Blue Screen of Death). Windows Debugging Tools include an application called WinDgb in which70% of the time will return the source of the bluescreen.A mini or kernel memory dump occurs when a windows Kernel level process makes an error causing the entire OS to issue a STOP command, hence the blue screen. Kernel level process's and different from user level process (applications like IE, Word etc.. are User level process's). Kernel level process run at the core of Windows appearing as device drivers and other very low level software used to communicate with raw hardware I/O, and system memory management. This is commonly why most people say you have a driver issue when your computer begins experiencing STOP errors i.e"Blue Screens".

95% of the time the OS is not a fault for a STOP error but a poorly written device driver. So don't blame Microsoft!

What happens when there is a STOP error?

When Vista encounters a STOP it will flash the common blue screen, dump the physical memory to the hard drive and restart. Now in past Windows Operating Systems you would need to change a system setting in order to stop the system from restarting in order to read the actual STOP error code on the blue screen. This can still be done under:Right Click My Computer > Properties > Advanced Properties (Left Pane) > Startup and Recovery Settings > uncheck the auto restart box. Most of the time this will not be necessary as the next time you log on after a blue screen restart Vista will prompt you with a little window describing the STOP error code and where the dump file can be found.

NOTE: It is generally better to have a small memory dump then a kernel dump as more info is at hand for the debugger.

Locating the memory dump file

Looking at the photo above, the first file location listed will appear similiar to:

C:\Windows\Minidump\MiniXXXXXX.dmp (XXX is a random identifier)

This is the location in which we will use later when using Window Debugger to search for the driver which caused this STOP error or "Blue Screen".

Using Windows Debugging Tools

To begin you must download the free tools from Microsoft here: (If you are unsure which version of Windows you have x86 or x64, most likely you have x86)

Download and start the Installation

Upon the completion of installation go to your start menu and locate "Debuggin Tools for Windows" and click on WinDBg.

Once loaded, click File > Symbol File Path and enter (without quotes)"SRV*DownstreamStore*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols"

Opening the Memory Dump:

Now Click File > Open Crash Dump and navigate to the location of the file we found earlier, and hit OK. You will be prompted to save workspace, and hit yes.

Now wait 10 seconds or so depending on how fast your PC is for the application to load up the memory dump. Don't be alarmed if you see messages at the end such as:

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for vmm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for vmm.sys

This just means that the symbols file we loaded earlier could not locate information for this particular driver, most likely because it is 3rd party and not supported. This shouldn't be of any concern.

Begin the analyzing the memory dump!

This part is quite simple located the line which reads:

Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

Click the hyperlinked "!analyze -v" and it will begin to locate the source driver of the STOP error. You can also type this syntax into the textbox at the bottom of the screen.

Locate the PROCESS_NAME line for a listing of the process in which was involved in the STOP and scroll down to fine the IMAGE_NAME which will display the underlying driver at fault.

In my Case Virtual PC.exe was the process and the driver Vmm.sys. This in turn seemed to be quite accurate as I was using Virtual Pc at the time of crash.

Other Commands(Type into textbox at bottom of debugger:

The !analyze -show command displays the Stop error code and its parameters. The Stop error code is also known as the bug check code.
The !analyze -v command displays verbose output.
The lm N T command lists the specified loaded modules. The output includes the status and the path of the module.

So I know the problem driver/process...Now What!?

You could issue the command lmv m drivername and it will give you info on that particular driver such as its location, its date (which can be helpful in determining if its an old driver that needs updating). Since you now know the driver name you can google and check the manufacturers site for an updated driver which Should fix the problem.

So Is that it...Am I Done?..Beware:

Using WinDBg is not an instant fix, it is not always correct and sometimes will not find a solution. If this is the case I suggest you run a memory test on your computer to make sure your memory is running correctly and not the source of the problem (Bad memory is a common cause for Blue Screens). Type "Memory" into your start menu and click the only option, this is the built in windows memory test which works very well for ruling out memory problems.

Repairing Windows Update Manually

If you run into the problem where Windows Update refuses to install updates, here is a solution Max found on some other sites which seems to work pretty good if you do everything right! Apparently Microsoft knows this is a problem and has no solution but this works!

The issue is that the WUA 3.0 (7.0.6000.374) upgrade is corrupted,
essentially the system reports the WUA to be 7.0.6000.374 but the files on
the disk are still from the old version (you can check some of the DLLs like
wups.dll, wuaueng.dll etc... in the windows\system32) ... and you cannot
install the WUA 3.0 even manually.

Delete the following file:

C:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml

Since Windows security will not allow you to do this, hereunder the
procedure to take ownership of the file:

Run a command prompt with "Run as Administrator".
Type in the following commands:

takeown /f C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml

cacls C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml /G :F

Then delete the file

del C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml

Reboot the machine, then manually install the WUA 3.0 downloadable from
here: http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7/windowsupdate/redist/standalone/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe

This should fix the Error 80073712 when the other solutions do not work.

BE AWARE that renaming C:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml might have
unrecoverable impacts on your Vista installation

NOTE:

As a result of this comand:

takeown /f C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml

your user name will display which you can use in place in
this command (drop the < and >, one space after G and no space after
):

cacls C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml /G :F

If the del command works (no errors displayed) you can go on and do the
download of Windows Update.

[Update]: There are reports that Comodo firewall is preventing Windows Update from working. You not only have to disable Comodo; you have to completely uninstall it.
Check to see if you have Comodo installed or running.

WIDCOMM Bluetooth Drivers for Windows Vista

Hello,

So here is my problem/resolution...

I have a Zonet Bluetooth V 2.0 dongle Supported with Broadcom WIDCOMM Drivers. My original install CD of course did not work with Vista.

I had it removed during my install of Vista RC1 and after getting up and running inserted it and Vista would recognize it as a USB Device but didn't have drivers for it.

When I would reboot my PC and load Vista it would lock up after the loading screen with the green bar... (XP still loaded fine)

There was even a time where if i inserted it while fulled booted in Vista it would lock my PC up solid and I would have to remove it and cold boot my PC.

To make a very, very long story short...after about 10 different versions of drivers, I finally found one that works...I don't remember where I found it but here is the filename...

Widcomm.32Bit.v5.0.1.2500.Incl.Lic.Patch.rar

I still have the file so if someone needs it here is the link

The site that I found it on also had the 64bit version...(don't have that one)

I also, after getting the drivers installed had problems with the license.dat file that WIDCOMM uses but that is what the patch is for I now have approx. 2,000,000 days left in my evaluation copy of this software.

This was very frustrating, and took a few nights/mornings to fix so if anyone else is having problems let me know and maybe I can help...

Edit the Windows Vista Boot Menu Options - BCDEDIT

Click start>All Programs>Accessories>Right Click on Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator

Then type BCDedit.exe

Introduction

In Windows Vista, the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store contains boot

configuration parameters which control how the operating system is started in

the Windows Vista and Windows Server Code Name "Longhorn" operating systems.

These were found in the boot.ini file in previous versions of Microsoft

Windows. To edit the Windows Vista Boot Menu Options, the Boot Configuration

Data Editor - BCDEDIT is used.

The Bcdedit.exe command-line tool can be used to add, delete and edit entries

in the BCD store which contains objects. Each object is identified by a GUID

(Globally Unique Identifier). Every drive or partition on the system will have

its own GUID and could be {legacy} (to describe a drive or partition on which a

pre-Windows Vista operating system), {default} (to describe the drive or

partition containing the current default operating system), or {current} (to

describe the current drive or partition one is booted to), or for example

{c34b751a-ff09-11d9-9e6e-0030482375e7} (to describe another drive or partition

on which an operating system has been installed).

Bcdedit.exe is located in the \Windows\System32 directory of the Windows Vista

partition and can be accessed only from the Commad Prompt which is found on

the Windows Vista start menu at Start>All Programs>Accessories

Command-line Help

bcdedit /? Shows all commands one is able to use

bcdedit.exe /? CREATESTORE Shows detailed information for the command

CREATESTORE or any other command available in bcdedit as shown when running

bcdedit /? followed by the particular command more information is required for.

bcdedit or bcdedit /enum all Shows the current structure of your boot

configuration data.
The GUID tags {xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} of all Windows

installations present on your computer will be displayed.

Create a Backup

It is strongly recommended that one creates a backup of the BCD store before

making any changes to it.

bcdedit /export "D:\BCD Backup\Bcd Backup" Creates a backup to a pre-created

folder, in this case “BCD Backup” on drive D:

Making Changes to the Boot Configuration Data

bcdedit /set {legacy} Description "Windows XP Professional SP2" Changes the

text description of the “Legacy” OS line in the boot menu. The quotation marks

bcdedit /set {current} description "Windows Vista Build 5308 x86" Changes the

text of the boot menu line for the Vista or non-Vista installation one is

currently booted to, from the default "Microsoft Windows" or other description

to that shown in the quotation marks

bcdedit /set {5189b25c-5558-4bf2-bca4-289b11bd29e2} description “Windows Vista

Build 5270 x64” Changes the text of the boot menu line for any other Vista

installation. One must use the GUID for that particular installation as shown

when one runs the bcdedit or bcdedit /enum all command

bcdedit /default {current} Sets the current Windows installation one is booted

to as the default Windows boot OS

bcdedit /default {5189b25c-5558-4bf2-bca4-289b11bd29e2} Sets the referenced

Windows OS as the {default} Windows boot OS

bcdedit /default {legacy} Sets the legacy (Windows XP SP2) OS as {default} boot item

bcdedit /displayorder Sets the display order of boot menu items for example:

bcdedit.exe /displayorder {legacy} {current}

bcdedit /timeout 15 Changes the default 30 second time-out of the boot menu to

15 seconds or any other value inserted.

Correcting changes to the Partition/Disk structure

Where a partition or a hard drive has been added or removed and has caused the

partition/disk structure to change, this can be corrected by running these

commands in the order shown:

X:\>X:\boot\fixntfs.exe -lh -all (Where X: is the drive/partition on which the

folder "boot" is to be found)

bcdedit /set {5189b25c-5558-4bf2-bca4-289b11bd29e2} device partition=X: Changes

boot partition of the OS whose GUID is indicated. (Where X: is new

drive/partition required). Must be used together with the osdevice command

Msconfig - System Configuration Utility

The System Configuration Utility (msconfig) is accessible from the Windows

Vista start menu, Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System

Configuration. It has limited funcionality as regards the BCD store however,

with the only relevant functionalities being to change the default boot

operating system, to delete a boot menu item and to change the timeout display

period of the boot menu.

CAUTION: Making incorrect or invalid changes to one's BCD store can result in

the system no longer booting and only those comfortable with using command line

entries and who understand the inherent risks of making a mistake should do so.

Vista Tweaks (Shell Related)

Turn on the sidebar

The long awaited Windows Sidebar, which first debuted back in the Longhorn alpha builds but was removed and remade into a seperate project has finally made its way back into Windows Vista. However, it is tucked away in 5308. To start it:

Click Start, and hover over All Programs.
Navigate to the Accessories folder.
Click “Sidebar”.

Bring back “Run” on the Start menu

One of the most favorite functions in Windows, the “Run” function, has been moved off of the Start menu by default in Windows Vista. To access it, you could press WinKey+R on your keyboard to bring it up. Or you can use the Search functionality built into the Start menu, it also works as the run command. Or, last but not least, you could just put the Run command back on the Start menu where it has lived for years:

Right click on the Start button, and click “Properties”.
In the “Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” dialog, click “Customize”.
Scroll down and in the list you shall find “Run command”. Check the box next to it.
Close any open dialogs by pressing OK.

Toggle DWM

If you find the Aero Glass user interface annoying, orif it is slow on your computer configuration, simply pressCtrl+Shift+F9 to turn it off. Press this key combination again to re-enable it.

Use the Search box in Windows Explorer to filter a file view

Did you know you can easily filter the list of documents and folders in a folder using the Search field in Windows Explorer? For instance if you have a folder containing a lot of folders and documents and you are specifically looking for “Vista”, all you need to do is type “Vista”, or even just part of the word, such as “Vis” to limit the list of files shown.

Use Flip3D
In build 5270, Microsoft had added a quick launch button to run “Flip3D”, the cool new task switching mode in Windows Vista. In the February CTP however, this quick launch item has been removed. If you’ve forgotten the key combination to run Flip3D, it is currently WinKey+Tab. If you want to run Flip3D without it closing when you let go of the key combination, press Ctrl+WinKey+Tab.

Limit the number of windows shown in Flip3D

If Flip3D is too slow for you or if you have too many windows open, you can easily limit the number of windows displayed in Flip3D. As you tab or scroll through them, other windows will appear.

Press WinKey+R on your keyboard.
Type “regedit.exe” without the quotes.
If asked for permission to launch the Registry Editor, click Allow.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
Right click on the right hand side of the registry editor, and under New, click on “DWORD (32-bit)”.
Name the new DWORD value “Max3DWindows” (without the quotes)
Double click on the DWORD value and set it to the maximum number of windows you want displayed in Flip3D. A good number is 5 for low-end cards and 10 for other cards.
Click OK and exit the Registry Editor.
Press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to shut down DWM, and then press the key combination again to restart it.
Press WinKey+Tab to display Flip3D.

Workaround for the dissapearing start button after using Flip3D

If you use the Flip3D function in Windows Vista February CTP, you may notice that when you return from the Flip3D display screen that the blue start button in the left hand corner is missing. To fix this, simply restart DWM by pressingCtrl+Shift+F9 twice.

Add another time zone to your clock

Onenice addition to Windows Vista is the ability to display the time in other time zones.

Click on the clock.
Click “Date and Time Settings”.
Click on the “Additional Clocks” tab.
Check the box labelled “Additional Clock #1″, and from the drop down menu choose a time zone.
Give the clock a name, such as “Microsoft” or “Texas”.
Press OK.

You can repeat this for the second additional clock as well.

Resize Partitions with Vista Disk Management

1. Click on the Start Button and right click on Computer and select Manage.

Enable Vista Glass on Intel GMA 950 Graphics Cards

1. First, I had to open up device manager. Click on the start menu and type in devmgmt.msc and Enter to load it up.
2. Once there, expand the Display Adapters section and right click on each device and select Uninstall.
3. Reboot the computer.
4. When it restarts, it should install a generic video driver so your screen will still work.
5. Go back into Device Manager, expand the Display Adapters section again and then right click on the device and select Update Driver.
6. This time select Browse My Computer for Driver and then Let me pick it from a list.
7. Go the the Intel section and select the Intel® Lakeport Graphics Controller.
8. Hit OK and install the new driver. Restart your computer.
9. Once you have rebooted, right click on your desktop and select Personalize again.
10. Click on Windows Colors and Appearance.

12. In the Color Scheme box, select Windows Vista Aero.

Add Additional Clocks to Taskbar

1. Right click on the clock in the taskbar and select Adjust Date/Time.

If you have the quick launch bar you can press the WINDOWS + a number and it will launch that application.

For example: If you have a shortcut for a folder in the first slot you would press WINDOWS + 1 to open that folder.
A second quick launch application would be WINDOWS + 2.

Use Vista for 120 Days Free! Longer Trial Period

Windows Vista can be installed, and run without any license, product key or activation for 30 days, This is solely for the purpose of trial/evaluation. Microsoft stress's that users should purchase a license with a valid product key before the trial period expires, or else Windows Vista will lock into Reduced Functionality Mode.

Although, A method has been discovered which will allow you to extend the evaluation period for a fresh 30 days, 3 seperate times. Microsoft has confirmed that extending the evaluation period is not a violation of the EULA and is aware of this tweak but does not seem to mind one bit, as no fixes or updates have been released to fix it.

All versions of Vista include Windows Vista Ultimate allow a 30-day free period without activation, except the corporate-oriented Vista Enterprise, in which case it supports only a three-day trial.

To reset or restart the initial grace period of Windows Vista to another 30 days, use the following steps:

Click on Vista Start button and type in "Cmd" in Start Search box (without quotes).
Press on Ctrl-Shift-Enter to open Command Prompt with administrative credentials (equivalent to “Run as Administrator”).
In the Command Prompt window which you opened, type the following command and press Enter when done: "slmgr -rearm" or "sysprep /generalize" (without quotes)
Reboot the computer.
Run the script again when the remaining activation grace period timer counts down to 0 days, you can run the code sooner but it is a waste. As if you have 20 days left and you run the script it will bump you back up to 30 again not 50.

Boot Order Editing

If you are dual booting XP Prof and Vista, you most likely have the annoying "Earlier Version of Windows" in the boot list and have Vista booting as the default. Lets change that!

In Vista, you do not have the Boot.ini like in XP where these type of settings were changed. We will need to use command line and the bcdedit command.

1. Open up the command line as an administrator or user w/admin rights (right click on the Shorcut > Run As and lets you run as an admin if your on a non-admin account)

2. type this command to see the current state of affairs.

to change the default boot os to xp, i would use this command:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} default "{ntldr}"

then type:
bcdedit

and you should see the changes you made.

The main thing is to remember to run the command line with an admin account or as the administrator.

Also, you can type: bcdedit /help to get a list of all of the parameters/flags you can use

Tweak Indexing Options for more Performance

The indexing service in Windows Vista is responsible for making those search boxes all over the operating systemlightening fast. By default Windows automatically indexes all files in your user profile folders, start menu and any files you have setup for offline access. If you have a lot of files in these locations and the files change often you can be putting a heavy load on the indexing service. For maximum performance when using Windows Vista I recommend disabling indexing for all other locations other than the Start Menu. This will lessen the background work that Windows Vista has to do. It will also slow down your searches of other locations but that is the price you must pay for this performance benefit.

Follow these steps to tweak the indexing locations:

Click on the Start Button and key in Indexing Options and hit Enter. Indexing Options will now load.
Hit the Modify button.
1. Next, click on Show all locations.
2. Scroll through the tree-view and uncheck any folders you do not want to be indexed. When you are finished, click OK.
3. If you want to change advanced indexing settings such as what file types are indexed click on the Advanced button. Otherwise hit Close.

The new Network Map in Windows Vista allows you to easily create a map of all computers on your network and see how they are connected. This works by using the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) protocol that is only part of Windows Vista.
To help users of mixed environments of both Windows Vista and Windows XP, Microsoft has released the Link Layer Topology Discovery Responder for Windows XP. This will make your Windows XP computers show up in the Network Map in Windows Vista.
This package contains the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) responder. The network map on a computer running Windows Vista shows a graphical view of the computers and devices on your network and how they are connected by using the LLTD protocol. NOTE

The TCP Chimney Offload State is enabled by default in Vista. It is recommended to have this enabled. You can test to see how your network connection speed works with either setting.

1. To See the Current TCP Settings -
A) Open a elevated command prompt.

B) Click on Continue in the UAC prompt.

Winrar Tricks [ Great tutorial]

If you have downloaded movies, in RAR Archives that have been split up into more than one parts using a Winrar you will know how frustrating it can be coz the movie may be one you already own or it may even be the wrong one. And to preview it you need to download all the parts.

Heres a method to preview the movie by downloading only the first part.

To preview .mpg .wmv .avi .mp3 files -
Things you need -
1. Winrar Archiver
2. Password for the RAR Archive, if it is password protected
3. A Media Player like Winamp, WMP..............

How to do it -
Lets assume that you want to preview a movie that has been converted into 7 RAR Archives named - claudia_ferrari_shq.part1.rar, claudia_ferrari_shq.part2.rar, .............., claudia_ferrari_shq.part7.rar.

And lets say you have downloaded claudia_ferrari_shq.part1.rar and want to preview the move inside it. (Note for this to work you must download the first part. It doesnt matter if you download any number of parts as long as they are in order, ie. dont download the last part first).

Now open the first part with Winrar. And press on Extract To button

Now comes the important part DONT FORGRET TO CHECK THE Keep broken files BOX AS SHOWN IN PICTURE -

You can either enter a custom address to save the clip in or you can continue with the default address, like I did. press Extract. If the file is password protected you will be prompted to enter the password, in this case enter the password and press ok. If you downloaded more than one archive (in this case I have downloaded 3 parts - claudia_ferrari_shq.part1.rar, claudia_ferrari_shq.part2.rar, claudia_ferrari_shq.part3.rar) you will get the following message -

Press Process All files in all volumes from the current, to extract files from all the downloaded parts. After this you will be able to see the extraction screen -
After the files from the parts have been ectracted you will prompted to give the path for the
next part.
Now press Cancel. On doing this an error window will pop-up.
press Close.

Now go to the pathname which you initially gave, while extracting the file.
A new folder will have been created there.Open it.
And voila you will have the preview. Play this file with your default Media Player.
Sometimes while trying to preview .avi files you may get an error. You can remedy this by playing it in some other player like, Power DVD XP.

2. To extract Bin-Cue files -

Things you need -
1. Winrar Archiver
2. VCD Gear
3. A Media Player

How to do it -
Follow the procedure for extraction, as given above.

Now in the new folder that has been created there will be two files -
1. A .bin file
2. A .cue file
Now open VCD Gear, and in the Window press LOAD and then give the pathname of the .cue file.
On doing so, it will ask for a file name. You can either save it with default name or give your own name. press OK
After the process finishes, go to the folder containing the .cue file. There will be a .mpg file in that folder now. Play the .mpg file and this will be the preview of the movie you are downloading.

This is a private glitch that I found all by myself. the tutorial you are reading is not available anywhere else on the internet!

Usually to make a free trial account on 'usenext' you must have a credit card to verify. however, there is a bad bug in the system that allows you to get 1gb accounts that last for 14 days totally free without having to enter your Credit card data!

it sounds hard to do and not worth it, but when you get good you can follow all the steps below in less than 60 seconds.

here is how:

1: create a googlemail account. this is so we have a 'throw-away' email by going here:http://mail.google.com/mail/signup - use totally fake details.

so now I have made an email address called fsd654fsd@googlemail.com - write down the email and keep it!

2: go to http://usenext.com and click " Get your risk free 14 day trial "

3: enter totally fake details as shown below:

note:
zip code is 1000 and then a number 1 - 9 (eg 10006) - this is to bypass the filter so that it doesn't think you have put a fake address in.

4: press next.

5: select 'visa'

Before you can understand how best to protect your privacy, it's helpful to know just what information you're generating when you connect to the net, and how easy this is to trace.

At the very lowest level, when you connect to a website it will receive a record of your IP address - the unique number that indicates which computer you're using. If you use an ISP like Demon, that gives you a fixed address, that's enough to pinpoint your account. With a dynamic address, it'll pinpoint the modem line you connected to. Finding out which customer was using that line means matching up a time with the records from the computers that handle your login. On a busy system, that could mean finding one from tens of thousands of entries, but it can be done. This is how the police were able to track the source of the Love Bug virus to a dialup account used by a group of students in the Philippines. Some systems, such as AOL, might share an IP address between more than one user. The same is true of some corporate gateways to the net; but even so, there will usually be a way to work back to a specific system, even if it involves trawling through pages of log files. One way of hiding these sites is to go via a proxy, making the address that appears in the web server's logs that of the proxy server. Of course, all that's really doing is adding another link to the chain, since the proxy server will have a record of what you're asking it to do. But with the Proxy Server resident in a foreign country this is time consuming, probably not practicable and faced with proxy chaining, most will just give up. This is also what makes proxy servers a useful tool for those who want to see what you're up to. Even though you may not think your web requests are going through one, many internet service providers (ISPs) use so-called 'forced proxying'. This means that all web requests are routed via a transparent proxy. You don't need to change any settings in your browser, but the effect is the same. For an organization or country that wants to control and monitor what people are seeing on the web, it's ideal.

Thoughts regarding the use of system logs as evidence: Log files make crap evidence, for a start they're easily forged, and you're reliant upon computer generated evidence. What jury will believe a computer over a human? At best log files are supporting evidence, in most cases they only show logins, connections and other impersonal evidence, no log can say BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT that someone did something, they only say this machine number connected at this time, it don't say anything about the identity of the person. If in doubt, deny everything, after all its the job of the prosecution to prove you are guilty of some misdemeanor.

3. What is a proxy server:-
A Proxy Server is a firewall and cache server. It can allow an entire network of computers to access the internet(http or ftp) with a single IP. it can act as a kind of filter for that network. Let's say you have 3 computers in some small network in japan going through a proxy server, schematically it looks like this.

If you are at home with internet access through your ISP, this is what your connection looks like :
(PC)------>Your ISP ----> The Web Site
If the proxy server in the network above allows other users to use it we can do this :

From the above diagram we can go through the proxy server and hide our real ip address or url name! The Web Site will only see the ip address or url name of the proxy server and NOT that of your isp, thereby making you anonymous!

4. Why Use One:-

* To act as a security firewall or ip filter.
* To reduce the network load by caching commonly requested pages.
* To translate the material into another language.
* To improve access speed for users, achieved by caching.

Our interest lies in the first option i.e. becoming anonymous and Surfing Safe It isn't guaranteed that simply by using a proxy you will be anonymous. Some proxy servers will forward your real ip at random intervals others do it by default, others do by request from the web site that you visit. This makes it necessary to test your proxy for anonymous status at a Proxy Checking site. These sites will allow you to test the information or headers that are passed from the proxy server to the web site, careful inspection of these will allow you to decide just how anonymous you really are. An example header is:
HTTP_USER_AGENT: IE5 WIN2000which tells the site your browser and operating system type. So once you enter a website, and click any one of the files on the webserver, the website owners can find out these items of information about you, and much more:

1. Your IP Address.
2. Your hostname.
3. Your continent.
4. Your country.
5. Your city.
6. Your web browser.
7. Your Operating System.
8. Your screen resolution.
9. Your screen colors.
10. The previous URL you visited.

The two most commonly used proxy types are http and socks each uses the common ports 8080, 1080 respectively. http proxies are for use with your browser. Socks which is a valid proxy alternative allows you sockisfy http, ftp, telnet, nntp, and common chat protocols similar to icq, hotline.

Your security can be further advanced by chaining proxies whether they be http based or socks proxies. And schematically might look like this:
client ---> proxy1 ---> proxy2 ---> Web Site. Each proxy server type has its own chaining syntax.

HTTP/FTP
The most common syntax is of the form proxy1.jp:8080//proxy2.kr:8080. This is added direct to your address editbox. Other proxy servers like the Japanese DeleGate servers use -_- to prefix the proxy and this can be typed straight into the url address bar i.e. type http://needmore.cs.utexas.edu:10080/-_-http://www.yahoo.com, note the "-_-", similar syntax applies to ftp sites since DeleGate Proxy Servers offer a ftp proxy service. The majority of proxy servers will use the http transport to convey the ftp information, and in doing so may or may not adhere to the connection conventions laid out in the ftp protocol. So to avoid revealing your ip address via an ftp connection its best to use a socks proxy for the purpose of anonymity, probably combined with some ftp client program. Proxy Hunter can be used to find the fastest proxies.

SHTTP/HTTPS
SHTTP aka Secure Hypertext Transport Protocol is a modified version of the Hypertext Transport Protocol (HTTP) that includes security features. implementations include Digital Signitures, MAC aunthentication, Public/Private Key Encryption.
HTTPS aka SSL (S)ecure (S)ocket (L)ayer is similary a secure messaging protocol but it differs from SHHTP in that supports a variety of protocols such as FTP/HTTP etc. SSL is compatible with firewalls and tunneling connections. Other protocols have their own secure versions such as FTPS for ftp and NNTPS for NNTP or Network News where some news servers allow upload via a secure connection.

WARNING: Since both these protocols allow connections on arbitrary or secure ports 443 in the case of SSL. These connection requests, unless blocked by a firewall or handled via a secure proxy specific to the protocol, will reveal your ip address in the connection process!

SOCKS:
Socks Proxies which are the most flexible covering many protocols can be successfully chained using a program called SocksChain which chains 2 or more socks proxies. If you use say 4 socks proxies chained together because you want to post on some Russian news server. Then this will make you anonymous. Similar applies to ftp http mail icq etc. (Mac users are out of luck with regard to the availability of software which performs these various proxy tasks, with some rare and not very reliable exceptions.)

Proxy Chaining:
The basic idea is this: although not all chainable proxies have web interfaces (a web page with a form where you can enter the URL you want to surf to using the proxy), several do have such interfaces. Three that are well known are MagusNet, the Anonymizer, and the Anonymicer.

Before starting, go to http://www.tamos.com/bin/proxy.cgi and write down the set of four decimal digits that make up your current IP address. Now, here's how to figure out how to learn to chain proxies with web form interfaces: Also try ports 8088 and 8090 for some additional interesting results. MagusNet uses a DeleGate proxy server; many other DeleGate proxy servers also have web interfaces and are chainable; to find several, notice the title of the MagusNet page: 'DeleGate for Non-CERN-Proxy clients'. Searching for that phrase on the standard US and Japanese search engines will turn up several other DeleGate proxy servers you can easily find the prefixes for using the exact same technique outlined above.

Many other DeleGates have no web interfaces, but they are chainable, too. Any time you are testing proxies you have found by scanning with ProxyHunter, searching on Search Engines, or filtered out of lists like the ones at Proxys4All or out of guestbooks or Boards at sites dealing with proxies etc., just test them to see if they can be chained. For example, if the _fictional_ proxy my_url.jp:80 is identified as a DeleGate on the Tamos page (or any of the other ENV testers listed on the Proxys4All Tools page), try http://www.my_url.jp:80 /-_-http://www.tamos.com/bin/proxy.cgi and see if it works. If it does (and many times it will), you've got another chainable proxy to add to your list.

*Note: By DOS, I mean creating batch scripts. If you have no idea what I am saying, please go to My Computer. Click Tools->View, and uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types". Now go to the Desktop, and right click->New->Text Document. Name it as "test.bat" without quotations. Right click test.bat and click edit. Notepad should now appear. You are editing a batch file. (of course it is empty now). To get to the command prompt, Start->Run->cmd.

Quick Command to Destroy Boot Files (and make victim unable to boot...)

Obtaining System Privileges on Microsoft Windows XP as NetworkService
================================================== =
Now, we are going to obtain System Privileges. Know that there is a massive difference between System Privileges and Administrative Privileges. Even if you are an administrator, try to kill the smss.exe process, or try to access C:\System Volume Information. Even if you found some way to tweak that, the bottom line is that even as an administrator, you are not part of the operating system. System is part of the operating system. You can basically kill your pc or repair it if there is a problem. To get System Privileges, follow these steps below. If there is a problem, please try to figure out what is wrong or try an alternative or LOOK AT TROUBLESHOOT BELOW instead of spamming this post with questions.

1) Open the command prompt.

2) Type the command below.
sc create systemprompt binpath= "cmd.exe /K start" type= own type= interact

3) You have now created the service. To run it, type the command below.
sc start systemprompt

4) You should now have a new prompt. This new prompt has system privileges power. You can destroy your operating system with this prompt (well, you could destroy your operating system without it...) or you could read on and find out how to get the system desktop.
Time to learn a few concepts:
The process explorer.exe is called the shell process. Any process you create from the shell is under the username of the shell. When you login as Bill, the shell is started under username Bill, and any process you create from the shell (ie. desktop, start menu, almost everything for the average user that doesnt explore the command prompt and such), is created under the username Bill. When you load the shell for the System, the username will be NetworkService, and about every program you run will spawn from NetworkService, which basically guarentees you system privileges for each and every program you run. ONE NICE THING: If your parents or someone has made their account private, you can now look into their documents without any problems. REMEMBER, YOU ARE THE OPERATING SYSTEM NOW. Now lets end this absurdly extended paragraph and load the system shell. If you STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HECK A "SHELL" IS, YOU WILL FIND OUT BELOW.

5) Open task manager BY USING CTRL+ALT+DEL OR CTRL+SHIRT+ESC.

6) Click the Processes tab, and find process "explorer.exe" without quotations.
7) Click End Process and click Yes to the confirmation. Warning: The desktop and taskbar will dissapear, and yes, thats normal. Thats why explorer.exe is called the shell process and thats why the Desktop and Taskbar and Windows Explorer are part of the shell

8) Returning to the system prompt, (and if the prompt isnt visible, use ALT+TAB to switch programs) type the simple command below.

9) You should now see the taskbar and desktop come back, but why is it different?! Because this desktop and taskbar is the SYSTEM desktop and SYSTEM taskbar. If you click Start, the username will be SYSTEM. Now, operate this account like you would for a normal user, and don't try to screw it up...because things on this account are saved just like a normal profile.

10) REVERSING THE PROCESS
To reverse the process, use CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open Task Manager. CLick the Processes tab and select the explorer.exe process. End the process and click Yes to the confirmation. The system desktop and system taskbar should now dissapear. Using the same task manager, go to the Applications tab and click "New Task...". Type "explorer.exe" without quotations. You will now have your default shell (the one you logged in to with).

Find a list of free proxy. You can Google it out or use the ones down the bottom of the page.

Step 2.

Now choose an IP address and port from this list. In this tutorial I have chosen IP: 195.175.37.6 and port: 8080. You can choose whatever you like.

Written Tutorial:
In this example we will hide a text message inside a picture. We have choose for this tutorial a text file named Secret.txt and a picture firefox.jpg.

1. Move your files you want to combine in a new folder, in our case C:\Hidden.

2. Add the file you want to hide into a new RAR archive (in our example named Secret.txt.rar).

3. WinRar created the archive in the folder where our files are located.

4. Open Command Prompt (Start -> Run..., type cmd and press Enter).

5. Go to the folder where your files are located, in this case C:\Hidden by using the cmd comand

6. Now type copy /b firefox.jpg + secret.txt.rar helpero.jpg where firefox.jpg is the original picture,secret.txt.rar is the file that will be hidden, and helpero.jpg is the file which contains both.

7. If you open helpero.jpg you will see the firefox.jpg image.

8. Try opening the file with WinRar (select All files).

9. Now you can see the text file that is hidden in the picture

A simple solution to make this more secure, is to use encryption on the RAR file when you create it.

Basicly, instead of plugging your headphones/speakers into the sound jakk, plug it into the microphone slot.
Open windows sound recorder and test it out.

The quality isnt half bad depending on the headphone quality and this works on msn.

safe is very important. And believe me nothing but anger will come from your members when they
find out there passwords have been posted. So make sure if you do make your own scripts to encrypt
the passwords via MD5. Putting it in plain text is just asking for a pwnage! Now let?s say your
web site does get attacked and access, the attackers download the db they see that you encrypted
all of the users passwords in the md5 format. Now the attackers have to spend alot of time cracking
the passwords and half the time they won?t even crack them because most of the word lists now ah days
suck.So it?s alot better because just in case you do get attacked maybe only 7 out of 100 account
passwords will get cracked.So always encrypt your passwords never leave it in plain text.Now let?s say
some body get?s an SQL Injection on a web page pulls the information and now see?s the text

Staff members are the most trusted on the website but be care full on who you add to your staff some people
might be just spamming the website so they look active get in the staff group and then start to mess with things.
So make sure you promote the right people and that you know them on a decent level, also watch out for social engineering. This is becoming alot more common now days people act like staff members over msn/irc/aim and then talk
you into giving them access.So a good way to prevent this is too set up a little system like a certain question or
some thing personal they would know.One thing I like is using the phone number question, works alot
So watch out for who you promote and who?s claiming to be some one there not test your staff.We have just gone over
the password problem above so now im going to tell you about staff passwords. Now administers this should be a
requirement for all staff members they should all have very!very! strong passwords. So you never have to worry about
brute force attacks or things like that.Make sure that they use upper case lower case letters and maybe a symbol in there.

Errors something attackers love to see it gives them the hint that there on the right track, so make sure
to disable all errors. So let?s say some body is close to an SQL Injection but no errors are showing up so he?s a bit
lost, and thinks he?s not getting any were so just stops.Folders /images/ things like that make sure to close those off
so no body can view your things. So they won?t be able to browse through the folders and if there trying to attack the
website they will have no help from the error system.

IP limit its nice to what does this mean, it means that lets say Becky is trying to DDOS CN website after her
ip shows up more then 35 times a day her ip gets banned for a few days. This is a good thing to use to protect
your self from DDOS and bandwidth draining attacks. Now the information part is making sure no body?s public information is
posted on your website such as address,phone numbers,etc. And if it is hide it or encrypt it in some sort of way so none of
your members/staff members d0x?s gets published.

The admin login page is what alot of attackers try to find so they can brute force it or try to do other things to it some cool tricks to
do is to switch up some code. And make it so you have to have a certain user agent to be able to view the admin login page. You can use the
fire fox User Agent switcher to do tis easily.Directory also make it hard to find the admin login don?t use /admin/ /administer/ make something
unique.Attempts make it so you only have like 5 chances to log in if you pass the limit you have to wait one hour or two w/e. This will prevent
alot of brute forcing attacks.

Its always good to check your host out make sure there not easy to social because some people will go to the extent of socialing your
host for your password.So it is good to be on good terms with your host make sure there not exploit able and tell them a thing or two.
Because some web host can be easily tricked by a simple email or a phone call its as easy as telling the host over the phone that your
computer got water spilt all over it so I need a password change. Then they tell you the new password over the phone so then you just log
in and you have full access.

Ok now your website is alot more secure your folders are /protected/ you have a strong staff team all of your passwords are strong so no
worry's about brute force attacks.Banned members cannot get back on your website sense you have the proxy prevention scripts, your admin
login is safe your host is not vulnerable to socialing.You have everybody?s passwords safe and you can prevent little skiddie DDOS attacks
so now your website is alot more secure then probably half of the websites on the net.

4. Connect to someone else's wi-fi. In this day and age, as long as you don't live in the woods, you're bound to have at least a couple hotspots / neighbors. Even if it is secure, it's quite simple to hack into them, but I won't tell you how. Google it.

Googlemaps is a great place to find these things. Search for some business building or a corporate office and use their information. I suggest using their information for every account per scam, then changing to a new one. Or use a phone number from one company, then the address of another. They'll contact this information, maybe even pop in for a visit. And they won't be doing it to you.
